Experience Galion is Galion's downtown revitalization organization, and is involved in activities in promotion, enhancing appearance, and economic development. Join with us in bringing renewed vitality to the city's hub for almost 200 years.
Galion has a love affair with the arts, both visual and musical. An excellent community theatre housed in a restored venue; the new Big Four Depot Pavilion; two Uptowne art centers and galleries; concerts in the parks and schools -- there's lots to see and hear.
Specialty retailers line the streets of Uptowne Galion and can be found throughout the city and area. Restaurants offering unique fare join establishments offering craft beer and wine, delis offering meats and cheeses, and farm fresh food.
The teams are the "Tigers" (Galion High School) and the "Graders" (GLSCL). Football Friday nights are a tradition, as are baseball games in three parks. Youth leagues give kids a chance to play, Reservoir Ridge Disc Golf Course is top-notch, and Mid-Ohio is nearby!
History is on every corner. Two historic house museums, the amazing Big Four Depot, and blocks of historic architecture await. Hear stories of Thomas Edison, Colonel Crawford, Henry Ford, Henry Lee, and other figures from American history.
Two nature centers -- the Ohio Bird Sanctuary and Lowe-Volk Nature Park -- offer year-round programming and exhibits. Home-grown produce and meat can be found in the Galion area, and is available in area stores and farmers markets.
